Our company proudly marks the 20th anniversary of our Nuevo Laredo plant in Mexico. This milestone highlights two decades of growth, innovation, and strategic expansion, enabling us to meet the increasing demand for Nova plastic casing.
20 Years of Growth and Innovation
Initially, our Nova plastic casings were produced through a joint venture, with manufacturing in Norrböle on the Aland Islands. As demand grew, it became clear that we needed to expand. Daniel Wahlfors led the search for a new plant location, with Nuevo Laredo ultimately chosen for its logistical advantages and strong local support.
The Nuevo Laredo site was a shell building, allowing us to design and build the interior to meet our needs. Key figures like Ben Eriksson, Daniel Wahlfors, Rodolfo Torres, Jacobo Cruz, Jorge Gonzales, and Gregorio Perez were instrumental in the transition, overseeing the dismantling of machinery in Norrböle and its reassembly in Mexico.
Continuous Expansion and Success
Over the past 20 years, the plant has expanded significantly. Operating 24/7, it now houses two extrusion machines, two printers, three shirring machines, and a loops production unit. Despite a slow start, the plant now runs at full capacity, sometimes requiring external material purchases to keep up with demand.
We are immensely proud of the plant's development and success over the past two decades. As we celebrate this 20th anniversary, we look forward to continuing our growth and innovation in the years ahead.
